Turned 16 in November - bad luck

Couldn’t wait for freedom!

First driver’s test in the spring

- automatic FAIL

Did not yield right of way!

Second driver’s test 2 weeks later

- FAIL

Too many demerits!

Grampa Sam, aka Exador

(think Mork & Mindy 😉)

generously offered to teach me to drive.

“Now remember do as I say not as I do…

So the police won’t be calling you too.”

Guess the apple doesn’t fall

far from the family tree…

The cast iron bumper

Of my friend’s truck

I borrowed to move

Hardly touched

The shiny chrome bumper

Of the new truck

In the parking lot.

I hadn’t even noticed 🥴

The police came a calling

To my place of employment

“Hit & Run?” OMG!

I was lucky the gracious owner understood

It only cost a small fortune

To repair the small dent

An experience to remember 😏

Next time

I backed into the vehicle

That was waiting right behind us

As we were leaving the resort…

Although his wife was outraged

The kind man comforted the ditzy chic

“No worries, I was going to fix it anyway.”

I watched them in my rearview mirror

For the next 160 km.

That was punishment enough 🥴

Shit happens to all of us

Don’t sweat the small shit!

Embarrassing moments

are just good stories in the making…

😂😂😂
