The University of Victoria invited the USCC Cultural Interpretive Society (CIS) and the Doukhobor Discovery Centre (DDC) to participate in a museum exhibition that explored the culture of women wearing headscarves. The project was intended to tell stories of women who have worn, and still continue to wear head coverings for cultural, traditional, religious or other reasons.

To contribute to this exhibit, the CIS and the DDC assembled a display that portrayed the evolution and significance of shawls worn by Doukhobor women. Throughout Doukhobor history, a shawl was part of a woman's traditional cultural dress which she wore with pride and dignity. This project was intended to be multi-generational, including archival shawls to the present day significance of why a Doukhobor female, in 2021, chose to wear a traditional head covering to certain events.
