Calm amidst the chaos & confusion

My heart aches for all the defenceless animals ❤️

I am afraid to speak up

For fear of being condemned…

And I am too sensitive to handle it

So I shut off & shut down

My heart aches for all the homeless ❤️

But the message we hear is “Not in my backyard”

So I turn away

But

Aren’t we all the same?

Aren’t we supposed to help one another?

My heart aches for all the innocent lives being subjected to war ❤️

My hubby watches the news on TV

And the sound of the gunshots

pierce my soul

How do people & wildlife

in the middle of it all endure?

I am afraid to speak of peace

For fear of being accused of

Taking one side over the other

I am niaive…

Yes, I’ve heard this before.

“Why can’t you be more like so & so?

You need need to toughen up…”

So, I do.

And I become an empty shell

Whose lost connection

To self and to source?

But, the light continues to flicker within

And the small, still voice whispers…

Don’t fear my child, I am here
